Reflection On Mark 1: 14-20

Once John the Baptist was imprisoned, Jesus was deeply touched and heartfelt. Thus starts the mission with zeal, challenge and right motive moves to Galilee to spread Good News of the Kingdom of God which begun by John the Baptist.
At verse 15, we find that ‘the right time has come and the kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe in the good news.’ Since Jesus was the Good News sought men and women to listen to his words, asked people to repent for their sins in order to enter and rejoice in the Heavenly Paradise. Repentance is the golden key to open the door of eternity. The people of Nineveh responded so fast to the call of Jonah for repentance that it melted the anger of God. Today Jesus asks his disciples to stop catching fish and start catching men. They have been fishing for several years but gained nothing; hence a call for change of ways. It is a drastic change from living for oneself to living for others and it has miraculous impact in the society. Jesus calls these four fishermen who were very simple and unknown to be his followers. The very moment Jesus called them at different specific location, they left their belongings away even two of their father and followed Jesus submissively. Princess Eugene of Sweden had a vast collection of Jewels – useless stones! She sold them and built a hospital and she realized that the tears of joy on the cheeks of the patients were much dearer jewels than those she had possessed for years.

Today it is a unique call to each and every individual of God’s children in person to be something in the eyes of God. God has a various plans which dealt with our lives, where certainly we are to fulfill it. It is a very call to change our minds and hearts from filthy as well as temporary pleasures more about a conversion from sinful life to the sin avoiding life, where worldly attraction is increased. There afterwards we will be able to fulfill the plans of God in our lives by becoming a simplest disciple of Jesus.

Reflection On Luke 15: 1-3, 11-32

Today, we have one of the most famous parables in the entire Bible. It’s the story of the man with two sons. It is one of Jesus’ most original tales. We normally refer to it as the Parable of the Prodigal Son or sometimes as the story of the Forgiving Father. Reflection On John 10: 31-42

It demands a lot of courage and conviction from our side to stand by the truth. This is one of the messages that this passage gives. There may be times when we are not accepted for the good works we do as it happened in the case of Jesus. He went about doing well to everyone; but He was accused of making Himself equal to God. But Jesus knew well that His works are nothing but the works of His Father. The poor being protected, the blind seeing, the widow and the orphan being cared for, the prisoners being freed, etc.., were the works that always made the people of Israel recognize the presence of God in their midst.
